SPP is pleased to announce growth in its leadership roles in its consulting team.

These leaders have been attracted by the chance to work in a more agile and dynamic way, with less focus on leverage, and more focus on excellence in problem solving.  The SPP approach utilises smaller groups of experienced advisors, supported by industry nous, well crafted IP, and a strong heritage in data-driven decision making.  

Two new Partners and seven senior leaders have joined SPP’s expanding Melbourne and Sydney offices this year, increasing the senior team by over 50%.

These leaders will support on projects across a number of client sectors including Education & Research, Consumer, Government, and Financial Services.  Founded 16 years ago, SPP’s areas of capability include strategy & decision making, transformation planning and support, precinct and capital works planning, customer-driven growth strategy, and data and digital strategy & operations.


SPP’s new leaders and their reasons for joining SPP:

Ian McCall joins as a Partner within the firm after previously being the National Lead Partner of Strategy and Performance Improvement at Grant Thornton, and prior to that, the Lead Partner at Deloitte in Strategy and Operations.

“I saw a firm with a great heritage and tremendous opportunities to grow.

Ashan Ponnusamy has joined as a Partner within the firm after previously being a Partner at Partners in Performance.

“I wanted to work with a quality team to build a strong(er) relationship-based business”

Michelle Goldsmith has joined as a Principal within the firm from a prior role as the Head of Enterprise and Innovation at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health.

”I’ve been a long term client of SPP and I know the firm to be innovative, thoughtful and creative.  I’m really looking forward to contributing to the great work that SPP produces for a variety of clients.”

David Gunsberg has joined as a Principal in the firm after previously establishing his own consulting firm based in Brisbane, as well as working as the Director of Planning and Engagement at Griffith University.

Tim McMaster has re-joined as a Principal in the firm after a number of years as a Principal in SPP’s Sydney office, having previously being a Director at PwC/Strategy&.

“Excited to join a growing team in Sydney that includes new senior hires with a wealth of experience in strategy consulting”

Roger Wood has joined as a Senior Engagement Manager in the firm after previously being the Digital Strategy and Transformation Lead at RACV, and prior Head of Group Payments, Strategy and Innovation at NAB.

“After working for myself for several years I missed the challenge, camaraderie and breadth of opportunity that an established, mid-sized consultancy can provide – something SPP provides in spades.  (Also the people are really nice!)”

Neil Frankland has joined as a Senior Engagement Manager in the firm after previously being Deployment Program Manager at AMP, and prior Project Manager/Senior Business Analyst at AXA.

“I joined SPP to work for a firm that (a) works collaboratively with its clients to deliver practical outcomes, (b) understands the importance of work-life balance; and (c) is positioning itself for growth.”

Mihajlo Starcevic has joined as a Senior Engagement Manager in the firm after previously being an Associate Principal at Partners in Performance, with a number of industry roles prior to this.

Kim Poth has joined as an Engagement Manager in firm after previously being a Senior Manager at PwC.
